SPIEF and antibiotics resistance.
SPIEF passed last week in Saint-Petersburg. There was an interesting topic for us, we should talk about. The subject of antibiotic-resistance growth and efficacy decrease was established on forum’s website. WHO says this issue caused by self-treatment patients and doctors unable to treat antibiotics properly. In investor’s point of view this problem appears due to the usage of antibiotics made for human therapy for animal weight control, treatment and preventive purposes. An antibacterial soap was prohibited in the USA in 2017 due to the usage of antibiotics in cosmetic disinfectant production. In addition it is necessary to mention there was not a new type of antibiotics developed.
WHO adopted a “Global action plan on antimicrobial resistance” for resolving this issue and developing the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS) in 2015. Russian Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare enhanced the control of antibiotics turnover since March 2017, Ministry of Healthcare of Russian Federation established enlightenment events and conducted projects with laboratories for antibiotics resistance level control modernization.
Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance chief assistant Nikolay Vlasov believes to fight resistant problem we need to separate all antibiotics in three groups. The first – drugs, adopted for human treatment, second – drugs for animal and plant treatment, third – special drugs for therapy in special infectious deceases hospitals.
